The Open Education Global congress is the main international event related to Open Educational Resources, bringing together each year international specialists from all over the world. Carine Bernault, president of Nantes Université, and Colin de la Higuera, UNESCO Chair for Open Educational Resources and AI at Nantes Université are co-chairs of this 2022 edition.

Over three days, the Congress programme will engage the global open education community and provide further input and guidance for the implementation of the four UNESCO OER Recommendation action areas. The congress will accordingly focus on several related issues, such as:

  • How can the Open Education Global community develop the capacity of key education stakeholders to create, access, re-use, re-purpose, adapt, and redistribute OER?
  • How to use relevant technology solutions that ensure OER are shared in open formats and standards?
  • How to nurture the creation of sustainability models for OER?

As well as new questions received among more than 90 submissions:

  • What is the role of the students in OER?
  • How important is the part played by the librarians?
  • How does open education relate with the other opens?
  • What research takes place in the field currently?
